Epilepsy Action is to hold an information packed conference on Saturday September 20 with a view to supporting people affected by epilepsy in the Belfast area .The event, themed “Epilepsy the options” will take place from 10.00am to 4.00pm at the Holiday Inn on Ormeau Avenue, Belfast.
The conference is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy and will cover a range of topics relating to the condition. Guest speakers include: Mr Philip Lee, chief executive of Epilepsy Action; Dr D Peake, paediatric consultant neurologist at Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children; Dr Stephen Hunt, consultant neurologist at the Royal Hospital; Dr Muiriosa Connolly, clinical psychologist and Ena Bingham, epilepsy specialist nurse.
Morina Clarke, regional services manager for Northern Ireland said: “We are delighted with the speakers and range of topics to be included in this year’s Belfast conference. The event will provide people with the opportunity to learn about issues particularly relevant to women, children, treatment and the challenge of living with a long-term medical condition.”
She added: “Not only will delegates get to hear about the work of Epilepsy Action. There’ll also be the opportunity for them to meet epilepsy specialist nurses for one-to-one contact in the afternoon.”
