Patrick O’Kane from County Derry will be taking part in The Great Manchester Run in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity.
The Great Manchester Run will take place on Sunday May 20 in Manchester and is one of the world's fastest-growing running events and Britain's premier 10 kilometre run.
Patrick says: “My sister has epilepsy so she will be taking part in the run too. We really want to be able to raise funds and awareness for Epilepsy Action. As well as raising money for a good cause this is also a huge personal challenge for me as it is something that I have always wanted to achieve.”
The money raised by Patrick will help fund vital advice and information services provided by the charity. Epilepsy Action has a network of branches across the UK and now directly helps more than 550,000 people every year.
