A teenager from Anglesey will be abseiling down an Anglesey landmark to raise funds for Epilepsy Action Cymru.
Gemma Griffiths-Dixon, 14, will abseil down the 30-metre Marquis of Anglesey Column on 26 June. She will climb up 365 steps inside the column before she begins the abseil. Gemma is taking on the challenge as her dad and sister both have epilepsy.
Gemma said: “My dad and my sister have epilepsy and I think more people need to try and understand what it is and how it can affect people. I’m afraid of heights so this abseil will be a big challenge for me. I hope I can overcome my fear of heights while raising awareness of epilepsy at the same time.”
Gemma as already raised over £200 in sponsorship. The money raised by Gemma will help fund the vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action.
