Epilepsy Action is to hold a public seminar on launching the opening of a new branch in Cardiff on Thursday April 7. The event will run from 6:30pm – 9:00pm at the Cardiff Quaker Meeting House, 43 Charles Street, Cardiff.
The seminar entitled ‘Does changing the name of the drug matter?’, will include a talk on generic prescriptions by Malisa Pierri, sapphire epilepsy specialist nurse, University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. The seminar is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy and is an ideal opportunity to learn more about the condition and how to manage epilepsy within a community setting.
Ann Reynolds, regional services manager for Wales, said: “Over the years, many people have contacted Epilepsy Action to report that, having been given a different version of their anti-epileptic dug (AED), their health has been affected. If this is something that concerns, worries or interests you, please come along to find out if changing the name of your drug matters.”
Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. The branches hold regular meetings and offer a variety of social events and informative talks and discussions relating to epilepsy. The meetings offer the opportunity for people to share their experiences of living with epilepsy and also raise awareness of the condition in the local community.
