Epilepsy Action volunteers hold epilepsy meetings to celebrate National Epilepsy Week (13 – 19 June)

14 June, 2010

Volunteers from Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, are holding a series of advice and information days across Northern Ireland to celebrate National Epilepsy Week, and promote epilepsy awareness.

The events will take place on 14 June at Antrim Area Hospital, Antrim, on 15 June at the Connswater Shopping Centre, Belfast, and on 18 June at the Omagh Carnival, Omagh.  All events will be held between 10.00am and 3.00pm, and are open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy.

Epilepsy literature will be freely available to members of the public and advice and information stands will be in place at each of the three events.

Morina Clarke, Epilepsy Action’s regional services manager for Northern Ireland, said: “National Epilepsy Week is across the UK and Ireland, and it’s the ideal time to promote awareness of the condition. These events will give people the opportunity to obtain information on epilepsy and hear about the work of Epilepsy Action in Northern Ireland.”

Anyone who would like to attend the meeting, or would like further information, should contact Morina Clarke on 02890 634942 (mobile: 07885 778585), or at mclarke@epilepsy.org.uk
