Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity, is holding a free public seminar on epilepsy in Derry on Wednesday October 24, 2007.
The seminar, organised by the charity’s Foyle branch, will be held at the City Hotel, Queen’s Quay, Derry from 7.00 – 9.00 pm. Dr Mark Mc Carron, consultant neurologist at Altnagelvin Hospital, will be talking about the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy.
Ena Bingham, epilepsy specialist nurse will also be present at the seminar to speak about her role as a specialist nurse, followed by a question and answer session.
Regional services manager for Northern Ireland, Morina Clarke said: “This seminar will give people who are affected by epilepsy an opportunity to ask questions and gain useful information about epilepsy and the support they can receive.”
Morina continued: “Anyone is welcome to attend regardless of whether they live with epilepsy, have a friend or family member with the condition or are just interested in finding out more about what it means to live with epilepsy.”
