Put on your walking shoes for epilepsy

9 May, 2011

Epilepsy Action Northern Ireland is appealing for people to pull on their walking shoes to support National Epilepsy Week (15 - 21 May 2011). The Lagan Valley walk will take place on 15 May and is an annual event to raise awareness of epilepsy. It also raises funds to help support the 13,000 people living with epilepsy in Northern Ireland.

The route starts at 10am from Shaw’s Bridge going along the towpath as far as Drumbeg Bridge and return. Walkers will have approximately six miles to enjoy the meadows and mixed woodland. Refreshments will be available and it is estimated that the event will finish by 2.00pm.

Morina Clarke, Epilepsy Action’s Northern Ireland manager, said: “We do the walk every year and usually have fantastic support. It’s a great way to meet other walkers, and raise awareness of epilepsy. Why not join us?”
