Rowena Trevor from Pontypridd and dad Gordon from Shrewsbury will be taking on the challenge of running the Dublin Marathon in aid of national charity, Epilepsy Action on Monday October 27.
The brave pair will be amongst thousands attempting the 26-mile run through the historic Georgian streets of Dublin, despite Rowena's recent operation to try and control her epilepsy. They are taking part with the hope of raising £1000 to help support people living with the condition.
Rowena said: "This will be a massive personal challenge for me, especially after my operation, but if the money I raise helps make a difference for just one other person living with epilepsy, then I'll feel like I achieved what I set out to do.
"Crossing the finishing line with the knowledge that the money raised will be going to a really worthwhile cause will be the greatest achievement for me!”
The money raised by Rowena and dad Gordon will help fund the vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action. Last year alone the organisation directly helped more than 731,000 people through a range of services including its Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050, advice and information centre, branch network, accredited volunteering scheme and award winning website, www.epilepsy.org.uk
