Wrexham mum organises disco fundraiser for epilepsy charity

23 March, 2010

A Wrexham mum, whose son has epilepsy, is organising a charity fundraiser to raise vital funds for Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity.

Sandra Griffiths, 46, has organised the event with the help of her son, Thomas, who is 17. Thomas had his first seizure when he was 10 years old. The event takes place on Saturday 27 March at Flexys Community Hall, Cefnmawr. There will be a disco and popular local singers Ricky Vaughan and Jessica Lane will also be performing, donating their time for free.

The event is open to the public and the entry fee is £2.50, to be paid on the door.

Sandra, who lives in Newbridge, said: “I am organising this event as my son has epilepsy and I am keen to raise awareness of the condition. We are having a raffle and an auction and some fantastic prizes have been donated. We hope that people will come down and support our event and help us raise lots of money for Epilepsy Action."

Epilepsy Action has a huge variety of fundraising events suitable for all ages and abilities. The events can be a fun and exciting challenge with the added bonus of making a difference to the lives of people with epilepsy. To find out more visit www.epilepsy.org.uk/involved
