Staff and pupils at Caversham Park Primary School, Reading, are preparing to put the kettle on for Epilepsy Action's National Tea Break. The school will host a tea break on Tuesday 20 October.
The school council will run a cake raffle before and after school for all of the parents and children. The cakes will be made by staff, parents and children. The event is the first fundraising event arranged by the new school council and has been organised as part of Epilepsy Action’s seventh National Tea Break. National Tea Break aims to raise vital funds to help support the 456,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.
Natalie Price, a teacher at the school, said: "We are delighted to be holding a tea break event as our first school council fund raiser. We hope we can raise as much as possible to help support people with epilepsy.”
Hundreds of people from all over the UK will take part in the annual event. Since 2003, 800 Tea Breaks have taken place, raising an impressive £88,000 to help fund the vital information and advice services provided by Epilepsy Action. This year the charity hopes to make National Tea Break the biggest yet and break the £100,000 barrier.
