The Basildon and Thurrock Branch of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is joining the Thurrock Festival on 23 and 24 July.
The festival venue is at the Grays Riverside Beach Park, Grays from 11am until 9pm on Saturday and until 8pm on Sunday. Epilepsy Action will be on hand to give information between 11am and 6pm each day. During the evening sessions, there will be a variety of music acts.
Epilepsy Action will have an information stand at the event. There will be a chance to play games, watch DVDs about epilepsy. An epilepsy specialist nurse will be available to talk to and there will be an opportunity to take away epilepsy information on a range of subjects. People who have had similar experiences will be available to speak to.
Marie Edgar, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager for the south east, said: “This is a great opportunity to find out more about epilepsy in a friendly and informal environment. It is targeted at people with epilepsy, their families, friends or carers. Epilepsy is the most serious neurological condition in the UK. If people know more, they can recognise a seizure and will know what to do if they ever need to. Information is the key to living successfully with epilepsy. Come and join us to find out more.”
To support this event, the Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 50 50 will open outside of hours from 12pm until 2pm to support T-Fest visitors over the weekend.
