Epilepsy Experts Join Together In Brighton

26 September, 2007

The Brighton and Hove branch of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led charity, is hosting an informal meeting on epilepsy in children, aimed at parents and carers of children with epilepsy on the October 10 2007.

During the meeting Dr John Trounce and Dr Katherine Anderson who are both consultant paediatricians, want to talk to parents of children with epilepsy to hear their views on services which are provided to them.

The meeting is being held in the South Wing of the Community Base, 113 Queens Road, Brighton, between 7:30 – 9:30pm. Dr Trounce and Dr Anderson are both based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Sick Children in Brighton and from this informal meeting; they are hoping to ascertain the views of those attending.

Susan Mistry, the regional services manager for London and South East England says: “We would love to see as many parents and carers, and other people working with children who have epilepsy, as possible, for an informal discussion.”

Susan continues: “This kind of meeting is a great opportunity for the consultants and the parents. It will give both the opportunity to discuss the services currently provided at the children’s hospital and how together they can help to develop them in the future.”
