Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is holding an information day for people in the Chichester area.
It will take place on Saturday 26 May from 11.00am to 3.30pm at St Pancras Church, 101 St Pancras, Chichester.
The aim of the day is to provide information in an informal environment to the public in general and especially to people with epilepsy, and their families or carers. An Epilepsy Action accredited volunteer will be available to answer questions. Everyone is welcome. There is no need to book. People should just come along to St Pancras Church at 11am.
The information day will also see the launch of a monthly coffee and chat group at St Pancras church, where people affected by epilepsy can meet and chat. More details of this will be available on the day. This project is supported by a grant from the Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust.
If you have any questions, please contact Marie Edgar, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager for south east England, on 01708 479 536 (mobile: 07801 544 520) or at medgar@epilepsy.org.uk
Marie Edgar said: “This is an opportunity to find out more about epilepsy whether you have the condition or not. You can also put questions to professionals and meet others with the condition. We will also tell you about our plans for future support in Chichester.”
Epilepsy affects one in every 103 people in the UK alone and 87 people are diagnosed with the condition every day. Last year Epilepsy Action directly helped over 1.1 million people through a range of services, including its Epilepsy Helpline, branch network, specialist nurse scheme and award-winning website.
