Free information evening in Chichester for families and children affected by epilepsy

29 June, 2012

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting an event to support the families and children with epilepsy. The aim of the event is to help people understand the condition.

The event will take place on 9 July from 7.00pm until 9.30pm at St Pancras Church (at junction of East Street and St Pancras) St Pancras, Chichester.

Four speakers will feature at the event, including Dr John Trounce, consultant neurologist specialising in paediatric epilepsy at Royal Alexander Children’s Hospital, Brighton, and paediatric epilepsy specialist nurses from Chichester and Worthing, Alix Cook and Keita Thomas. Benefits advice will be provided by Robert Hayes through a project from ‘Aiming High’ and West Sussex County Council.

Children are welcome to attend and ask their questions. The evening will be dedicated to providing information and answering your questions. Opportunities will be available for families to book an appointment with ‘Aiming High’ for a more in-depth discussion. Light refreshments will be available, as well as epilepsy information to take away to pass on to family, friends and school or college staff.

The event is free and there is no need to book. For more information, please call Marie Edgar on 01708 479 536 (mobile: 07801 544 520). Alternatively, you can email medgar@epilepsy.org.uk
