Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting an event called “Epilepsy: what you can achieve” to raise aspirations and inspire people with epilepsy to achieve.
The event will take place on Saturday 30 June at Firstsite Arts Centre, Cultural Quarter, High Street, Colchester, from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Speakers include Dr Mohamed Sharief, consultant neurologist, from Colchester Hospital, and epilepsy specialist nurse from Broomfield Hospital, Frank La Rocca. They will be on hand to discuss different epilepsy treatments and the personal challenges faced by people with epilepsy.
Marie Edgar, Epilepsy Action’s manager for south east England, said: “This is a day to raise aspirations and encourage achievement for people with epilepsy looking at what is available to them now and into the future. We will be looking at what treatment there is now and what lies ahead. We will also be looking at some of the personal challenges faced so they are aware and can achieve potential while aspiring to be the best. This is a day for everyone but we especially hope that young people with epilepsy and their families attend. Firstsite is a truly wonderful new arts centre and we are very excited to invite you to experience this event in such great surroundings.”
Tickets cost £19.00 for delegates, £12.00 for members, £10 for concessions and £8 for member concessions. Seats are limited so to book a place, or for further information, please contact Jackie Kemp on 0113 210 8787, or email jkemp@epilepsy.org.uk
