Andrea Large from Hook, Hampshire, will be taking part in the Flora London Marathon on 22 April 2007 to raise funds for Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member led epilepsy organisation.
This is the first year that Andrea who is in the Royal Air Force based at RAF Odiham has taken part in the Flora London Marathon challenge and she will be tackling the gruelling 26.2 miles for a charity that is close to her heart.
Andrea says: “A very good friend of mine has severe epilepsy and over the past 12 years I have seen her face some difficult times. But despite having epilepsy she is so positive and lives a full and active life.”
She continues: “Every year I have sat and watched the Marathon on the TV and I have always said to myself that one year I am going to do it. I decided that this would be the year. Not only is it a personal challenge for me but I will really enjoy making a difference to a charity that is important to me.”
The money raised by Andrea will help fund vital advice and information services provided by the charity. Epilepsy Action has a network of branches across the UK and now directly helps more than 497,000 people every year.
