Romford woman takes on marathon challenge for epilepsy charity

10 March, 2011

A Romford woman, whose adopted brother has epilepsy, is preparing to lace up her running shoes to complete this year’s Virgin London Marathon. Zoe Thomas will attempt the challenging 26.2 mile run on Sunday 17 April to raise vital funds for national charity Epilepsy Action. The charity provides advice and support to the 456,000 people with epilepsy in the UK.

Zoe, 29, is taking part in the event as a personal challenge but also to support her adopted brother, Kraig, 8, who has epilepsy.

Zoe said: “As my adopted brother Kraig has epilepsy, I wanted to run the Virgin London Marathon to support him and raise awareness of epilepsy. I’m really looking forward to the challenge of completing the marathon and knowing it’s for a good cause.”

Zoe hopes to raise £1,500 for Epilepsy Action. To show your support for Zoe and Epilepsy Action, visit www.justgiving.com/zoe-thomas3 The money raised by Zoe will help fund the vital advice and information services provided by the charity.
