Bristol athlete raises funds for epilepsy charity

26 November, 2007

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity, would like to say a massive thank you to Christopher Copeland who took part in the Bristol Half Marathon earlier this year and raised a fantastic £1016.

This is the second time that the keen athlete from Bristol has supported Epilepsy Action and gone to great lengths to gain sponsorship, including contacting the Queen for her support.

Christopher says, “I’ve had epilepsy for a number of years and that’s why I enjoy raising money for Epilepsy Action. They have always been very supportive and I know that by doing this I’m helping them to support others who are living with epilepsy.”

He continues, “The Bristol Half Marathon is a favorite of mine and I’m so happy I was able to beat last years time and raise more money for such a worthwhile cause. “

The money raised by Christopher will help fund vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action. The charity now directly helps more than 660,000 people every year through its national network of branches, accredited volunteers, an Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050 and an award winning website www.epilepsy.org.uk.
