Cream tea party for epilepsy in Bournemouth and Poole

31 May, 2011

Epilepsy Action, the UK's largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is holding a cream tea party to celebrate the re-launch of its Bournemouth and Poole Branch. The branch has been set up to support people with epilepsy, thanks to the work of local volunteers.

The cream tea event will take place on Monday 13 June from 7.00pm until 9.00pm at Parkstone Christian Centre, Commercial Road, Poole. Anyone with an interest in epilepsy is welcome.

Kamlesh, branch officer, said: “It would be great if people from the Bournemouth and Poole area come along for a cup of tea, a scone and a chat. Mark and I are inviting people to tell us about the types of events and activities they would like to see the branch running. The branch is open to people with epilepsy, parents, families, carers and anyone with an interest.”

For more information about the Bournemouth and Poole Branch of Epilepsy Action, please contact Mark or Kamlesh on 01202 861 925 (mobile: 07526 858 947), or email eabournemouth@hotmail.co.uk

Epilepsy Action has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. Branches hold regular meetings and offer a variety of social events and informative talks and discussions relating to epilepsy. Meetings offer the opportunity for people to share their experiences of living with epilepsy and help to raise awareness of the condition in the local community.

The branch meets on the second Monday of every month between 7.00pm and 9.00pm.

Epilepsy Action directly helps over 845,500 every year people through a range of services including its advice and information centre and Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050. For information about the work of Epilepsy Action, visit www.epilepsy.org.uk
