Epilepsy Action, the UK's largest member-led epilepsy organisation is setting up a branch in Dorset to support local people affected by epilepsy.
In partnership with epilepsy specialist nurses, Michelle Knight and Aideen Tarpey, the charity is organising a variety of events in the area. Epilepsy Action hopes to raise awareness of the branch and recruit volunteers.
A volunteer interest day will be held from 1.00 pm to 5.00pm on Tuesday 1 September at Dorchester Baptist Church, Bridport Road, Dorchester. The event aims to recruit volunteers to help Epilepsy Action run a branch in the Dorset area.
Mark McDaid, regional services manager in south west England, for Epilepsy Action, said: "It would be fantastic if people in Dorset and the surrounding areas could come together to support the development of a new Epilepsy Action branch. The branch is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy and will support those living with the condition, as well as their families and carers. Please come along to support Epilepsy Action and help us develop new services in your area."

Epilepsy Action has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. Branches hold regular meetings and offer a variety of social events and informative talks and discussions relating to epilepsy. Meetings offer the opportunity for people to share their experiences of living with epilepsy and also raise awareness of the condition in the local community.
