Epilepsy Action hosts family information day

16 February, 2011

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting an information day on Saturday 26 February 2011. The event is supported by Percy Community Centre.

It’s open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy and will take place at Percy Community Centre, New King Street, Bath, from 12pm to 3pm. Children are very welcome and Percy Community Centre staff will be running a variety of activities for them.

Speakers include Jackie McFall, Business Services Manager at the National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE), who will be talking about support for young people. Stephen McCarthy, chair of our North Devon Branch, will be giving a personal account of his epilepsy.

Mark McDaid, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager, said: “This is a great opportunity for families with a child with epilepsy to meet and talk to Epilepsy Action staff and find out more. I will give a short presentation on the work of Epilepsy Action, followed by presentations from our guest speakers.”

To book a place, or for further information, contact Mark McDaid, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager, on 01291 621478 (mobile: 07841 416966), or at mmcdaid@epilepsy.org.uk

Tickets cost £6.00 for delegates (£4.00 concessions), or £10.00 for a delegate couple (£6.00 concessions). Refreshments are included.

Epilepsy Action directly help over 688,000 people each year through a range of services, including its advice and information centre and Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050. For further information about the work of Epilepsy Action visit www.epilepsy.org.uk
