Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting a family fun and information day to support the families of people with epilepsy. The aim of the event is to help families understand epilepsy, and how to manage it.
The event is part of our 2012 programme to launch an Avon Family Network and will take place on 11 April at AT-Bristol, Anchor Road, Harbourside, Bristol, from 10.00am until 3.30pm.
The idea of the network will bring together and support mums, dads, aunties, uncles, grannies, carers and so on of children and young people with epilepsy. Dr Jayesh Patel, Consultant in Paediatric Neurology, University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, and Dr Ingram Wright, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and Head of Neuropsychology, North Bristol NHS Trust, will be available for questions.
The consultants, Epilepsy Action staff, volunteers, and our local epilepsy specialist nurses will be on hand to provide useful information.
Mark McDaid, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager for the south west England, said: “If you are wondering what to do during the Easter holidays? Come along to Epilepsy Actions’ get-together for families with children and young people with epilepsy. Children and young people are welcome and at the end of the day, everyone will receive a FREE pass to AT-Bristol where you can visit the hundreds of hands-on exhibits, live shows and the planetarium.”
The event is free but you must book. Places are allocated on a first come/first served basis. Please book by telephoning Jackie Kemp on 0113 210 8800 or book online.
