Father and son fundraise on foot (Taunton)

6 July, 2007

Father and son Peter and Alan Kilner from Minehead, Somerset and their friend Alan Verbeetk from Swansea are holding a ‘Wild West’ themed sponsored walk and a coffee morning in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member led epilepsy charity.

The seven-mile sponsored walk will be held on Saturday July 7, starting in Bishops Lydeard at 10.30am, and finishing in Taunton. The following week on Saturday July 14 Peter and Alan will be holding a coffee morning with a raffle and bring and buy sale at Carantoc and Millets Social Club from 10am until 4pm.

Peter says: “I have had epilepsy since I was three years old, and throughout my entire life Epilepsy Action have helped me and my family through a lot of difficult times. We hope that the wild west fancy dress theme will add to the fun.”

He continues: “The most important thing about these events is to raise money and awareness for Epilepsy Action but also for people to come along and have enjoy themselves!”

Anyone interested in helping at the coffee morning should contact Peter on 01643 821 464.

The money raised by Peter will help fund vital advice and information services provided by the charity. Epilepsy Action has a network of branches across the UK and now directly helps more than 497,000 people every year.
