Vivienne Ashman from Somerset is helping to bring epilepsy 'Out in the Open' by holding a sponsored walk in aid of Epilepsy Action.
The event will take place at 9:30am on Saturday May 10, starting at the Crispin Community Centre, Street, Somerset. It is hoped that as many people as possible will take part in this four and a half mile walk.
It is just one of many ‘Out in the Open’ sponsored walks being held across the country to raise funds and celebrate National Epilepsy Week (May 18-24).
Vivienne who also took part in last year’s successful ‘Out in the Open’ said: “We want to raise more money for Epilepsy Action by involving lots more people. Last year we achieved £300 through sponsorship gift aid, so this year we want continue to make a difference.”
Epilepsy Action needs to recruit as many walkers and walk organisers as possible if it is to reach this year’s fundraising target of £45,000. More information can be found at http://www.epilepsy.org.uk/wongawalks.
The money raised will help fund the vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action. Last year alone the organisation directly helped over 731,000 people through a range of services including its Epilepsy Helpline, advice and information centre, and branch network.
