Staff and pupils at Langside School, Poole, are preparing to put the kettle on as part of Epilepsy Action’s National Tea Break 2010. The school has organised a tea break on Friday 22 October to help raise funds for Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation.
Langside School, in Parkstone, a part of Diverse Abilities Plus, is a school for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities, many of whom have complex medical needs. All the children will be involved in hosting the tea break by making cakes, sending invitations and serving on the day. The event has been organised as part of the eighth National Tea Break. The grand scale tea part encourages tea lovers to get together to help raise vital funds for Epilepsy Action, simply by drinking tea and eating cake.
Hazel Thomas, senior nurse at Langside School, said: “We hosted a tea break a couple of years ago and invited the minibus drivers and pupil’s passenger assistants to join us for an assembly with tea and cakes on sale. It was felt to be a great success then, so we're looking forward to another successful event.”
The money raised from this event will help to fund the vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action.
