A Porthleven woman, who has epilepsy, is hosting a birthday celebration with a difference. Sophie-Lauren Hodge has organised a Big Eat for national charity Epilepsy Action to celebrate her twenty-first birthday.
Sophie-Lauren will be hosting the event for family and friends at her home on Saturday 11 June. She will invite guests to donate to Epilepsy Action in exchange for a meal.
Sophie-Lauren, 20, said: “I have epilepsy myself but have only just been correctly diagnosed. I want as many people as possible to be aware of epilepsy and how hard it can be to live with. So for my birthday I would like guests to donate to Epilepsy Action instead of giving me presents to help other people with epilepsy get the support and advice they need.”
Sophie-Lauren hopes to raise £100 to help fund the vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action.
