Reading Volunteers Re-launch Epilepsy Action’s Reading Branch

11 March, 2010

Epilepsy Action, the UK's largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is re-launching a branch in Reading to support people in the area affected by epilepsy.

People from the reading area are invited to the re-launch event, taking place on Wednesday 24 March at the Jane Austen Room, Old Town Hall, Blagrave Street, Reading. It will run from 7.30pm until 9.30pm, and is open to everyone with an interest in epilepsy.

Mark McDaid, Epilepsy Action's regional services manager for the south west, said: “It would be wonderful if the Reading area could come together to support the development of a new Epilepsy Action branch. The branch will support those living with epilepsy as well as their families and carers. Please come along to support Epilepsy Action and help us develop new services in your area. Everyone is welcome.”

For more information about the launch, or the Reading Branch of Epilepsy Action, please contact Mark McDaid on 01291 621 478 or email mmcdaid@epilepsy.org.uk

Epilepsy Action has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. Branches hold regular meetings and offer a variety of social events and informative talks and discussions relating to epilepsy. Meetings offer the opportunity for people to share their experiences of living with epilepsy and help to raise awareness of the condition in the local community.

Epilepsy Action directly helps over 688,500 every year people through a range of services including its advice and information centre and Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050. For information about the work of Epilepsy Action, visit www.epilepsy.org.uk
