The Coventry Branch of Epilepsy Action, the UK's largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is holding a meeting to support people in the area affected by epilepsy.
The event will be held on Thursday 23 September at 7.30pm at Friends Meeting House, Hill Street, Coventry. The meeting is free to attend and anyone with an interest in epilepsy is welcome, including families and carers.
The Coventry Branch holds regular monthly meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7.30pm. It has a relaxed atmosphere and numbers are increasing every month. For more information, please contact Beverley on 024 7626 2390.
Julie Clark, regional services manager for central England, said: “It will be an ideal opportunity for anyone with an interest in the condition to learn more. Also, to ask questions that they don’t normally get the chance to ask. You will have the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation and find out what support is available locally.
“We want people to leave happy that they have found out more and realise that they are not alone. Everyone will have the opportunity to meet others and share their experiences, which they can do on a regular basis at the monthly branch meetings.”
Epilepsy Action has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. Branches hold regular meetings and offer a variety of social events and informative talks and discussions relating to epilepsy. Meetings offer the opportunity for people to share their experiences of living with epilepsy, and help to raise awareness of the condition in the local community.
Epilepsy Action directly helps over 688,500 every year people through a range of services including its advice and information centre and Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050. For information about the work of Epilepsy Action, visit www.epilepsy.org.uk
