Epilepsy Action’s Nuneaton Branch holds information evening with local epilepsy specialist

15 March, 2011

The Nuneaton Branch of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting an information evening on Monday 21 March 2011.

The event will take place at Hatters Space Community Centre, Upper Abbey Street, Nuneaton, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, and is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy.

Epilepsy specialist nurse, Paula Taylor, from the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, will be giving a talk and be on hand to answer questions about epilepsy. There will also be an opportunity to take away epilepsy information on a range of subjects, and talk to people who have had similar experiences.

Julie Clark, Epilepsy Action’s central England manager, said: “This is a great opportunity to find out more about epilepsy in a friendly and informal environment. It is targeted at people with epilepsy, their families, friends or carers. Come along and find out what help there is out there for you. You will get the chance to meet and talk to others with epilepsy, and share your experiences.”

Anyone who would like to attend the meeting, or requires further information, should contact Julie Clark, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager for central England, on 01684 577 554 (mobile: 07770 837970), or at jclark@epilepsy.org.uk

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. The Nuneaton Branch holds regular monthly meetings on the third Monday of every month at Hatters Space Community Centre, Upper Abbey Street, Nuneaton, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Local volunteers are always welcome to help with running the branch, and can provide a chance for people to develop new skills with others who understand the needs of people with epilepsy. The branch’s programme of events includes speaker evenings, fundraising, social activities, and awareness raising events.
