The Wolverhampton and District Branch of Epilepsy Action, the UK's largest member-led epilepsy organisation, has made an exciting new link with a specialist and his team to support local people affected by epilepsy.
The event will be held on Saturday 26 March from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at Albert Road Community Day Centre, Albert Road, off Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton.
Guest speaker, Dr Bagury, who is a neuropsychiatrist specialising in epilepsy from the Barberry, will be giving a talk about epilepsy and memory.
Dr Bagury, or a member of his team, will also attend future branch meetings and be on hand to answer questions, and provide advice to people with epilepsy and their carers.
The Wolverhampton and District Branch holds regular monthly meetings on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at the Albert Road Community Day Centre. It has a relaxed atmosphere and provides the opportunity to talk about different aspects of epilepsy in an informal and friendly setting.
Michele, Treasurer of the Wolverhampton and District branch, said: “Our meetings are ideal opportunities for anyone who has epilepsy or who has an interest in the condition to learn more. Also, to put questions they don’t always have the chance to ask to professionals on a one to one basis. They will also have the opportunity to meet others in similar situations and find out what support is available locally. We want people to leave happy knowing that they have been able to find out more and realising that they are not alone. Everyone will be able to meet with others and share their experiences.”
