Epilepsy Action Wolverhampton Branch hosts summer fete

24 August, 2012

Epilepsy Action’s Wolverhampton Branch, part of the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting a summer fete for people in the local area.

The fete will take place on Saturday 25 August 2012 from 2.00pm until 4.00pm at the Action for Independence Centre, 25-38 Albert Road, off Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton.

There will be a variety of activities for the family. These include a small bouncy castle for younger children, a fire engine, games and a barbeque.

Janet, branch chair, said: ““A good get together for everyone – a social event, fundraising for the branch and raising awareness about epilepsy.”

Julie Clark, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager, said: “If you do have epilepsy, this meeting will enable people with epilepsy to share experiences, which can be great support to many people living with epilepsy. It can make a big difference to meet other people who understand where you are coming from and be accepted and understood.”

If you have any questions, please contact Julie Clark, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager for central England, on 01684 577 554 (mobile: 07770 837 970) or at jclark@epilepsy.org.uk

The Wolverhampton Branch meets on the fourth Saturday of every month from 2.00pm until 4.00pm at Action for Independence Centre, 25-38 Albert Road, off Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton. It holds a variety of informative and social meetings, providing an opportunity for anyone affected by epilepsy to come along and meet others in similar situations. All are welcome.

Epilepsy affects one in every 103 people in the UK alone and 87 people are diagnosed with the condition every day. Last year Epilepsy Action directly helped over 1.1 million people through a range of services, including its Epilepsy Helpline, branch network, specialist nurse scheme and award-winning website.
