Churchdown Male Voice Choir is giving a concert to raise vital funds to help support the 600,000 people affected by epilepsy in the UK.
The concert, on Friday 27 April, is at St Paul and St Stephen Church, Stroud Road, Gloucester. It will raise money for Epilepsy Action, one of the church’s charities for 2012. Tickets are £6, with all proceeds to Epilepsy Action.
Brian Rose, who is organising the concert, said: “One of our church’s charities for this year is Epilepsy Action. It’s fantastic that the Churchdown Male Voice Choir will be performing at the church to help us raise money for this very worthy cause. Whether it's pop music or something more traditional you want, you can be sure you will find it in this concert. From Bridge over Troubled Water to All in the April Evening, and from Goin' Home to There is Nothing Like a Dame, there will something to suit most tastes.”
The concert starts at 7.30pm. Anyone interested in attending can call Brian on 01452 301 915 to buy a ticket or pay on the door.
Epilepsy affects one in every 103 people in the UK alone and 87 people are diagnosed with the condition every day. The money raised at the concert will help to support Epilepsy Action’s work all over the UK. The charity campaigns to improve epilepsy services and raise awareness of epilepsy. It also provides a national network of support groups, funds a specialist nurse scheme, holds regular regional conferences and has a freephone and email helpline.
