A Kenilworth woman is preparing to put the kettle on as part of Epilepsy Action’s National Tea Break. Christine Butler has organised a tea break to raise funds to support the 600,000 people with epilepsy in the UK.
Christine’s event takes place from 10.00am to 12.00pm on Saturday 22 October at her home in Queens Close, Kenilworth. The tea party will include tea, coffee, cakes, a raffle and a bric-a-brac stall. All proceeds will go to Epilepsy Action.
Christine said: “My son has epilepsy so I support Epilepsy Action. I organise a tea break event to support the charity every year. I’m looking forward to meeting friends and raising as much money as I can for this worthwhile cause.”
Michael White, fundraising events officer at Epilepsy Action, said: "We’re very grateful to Christine for organising a National Tea Break. This year’s event promises to be the biggest yet. The British as a whole are a nation of tea drinkers. We want people nationwide to help us celebrate this very British tradition and host a tea break. You can get together with friends, family and colleagues while raising vital funds for a great cause. Organising a tea break is really easy and can be as big or as small as you wish. If you can’t hold a tea break on 21 October, just choose a day that best suits you.”
The money raised at Christine’s event will support the vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action.
