Mark Cordiner-Barton from Shirley, Birmingham is taking part in Race the Train in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation.
The race is organised by the Rotary Club in Tywyn and will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2007. The aim of the fourteen-and-three-quarter mile multi-terrain race is to beat the train that leaves the station at Tywyn on the Talyllyn Railway at the same time as the runners.
Mark says: “I have an uncle who has epilepsy so I know how the condition can affect peoples’ lives. My wife and my son Harry will be riding on the train supporting me, which will be great to have them cheering me on. I am looking forward to getting around the course, meeting new people and of course finishing!”
The money raised by Mark will help fund vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity. The charity now directly helps more than 550,000 people every year.
