Stoke-on-Trent epilepsy group pulls on its walking shoes

1 August, 2012

Members of the Stoke-on-Trent branch of national charity Epilepsy Action are preparing to pull on their walking shoes to support the charity.

The group is hosting a sponsored walk around Westport Lake Country Park, Tunstall, at 10.30am on Sunday 9 September. There are two walk routes. The first walk will take around an hour and a half and is suitable for children and wheelchair users. The second route will take two hours. Stewards will be along both routes to guide walkers. Refreshments are available at the park.

People can sign up on the day at the Westport Lake County Park car park from 10.00am.

John Bostock, chair of the Stoke-on-Trent on Epilepsy Action, is organising the walk. He said: “We hosted a walk last year and it was a great success. We hope we can build on this success this time and warmly invite anyone to join us and help make this a good day. We are walking to raise awareness and funds to help Epilepsy Action carry on its work supporting people with epilepsy. Every step we take is a step for people with epilepsy.”
The group’s walk last year raised £1,600 for Epilepsy Action.
