A Wem woman, whose mum has epilepsy, is showing her support for national charity Epilepsy Action by holding a line dancing event.
Claire Butterworth, 29, will be holding the event at Brookfields Farm and Stables in Shareshill on Sunday 9 May. The event will last all day and choreographers will teach people the latest line dancing moves. In the evening Magill, a Liverpool duo who specialise in playing music suitable for line dancing, will be there to keep everyone entertained. Claire’s partner, Stephen Rutter, will DJ at the event throughout the day.
Claire said: “I wanted to hold the event to show my support for my mum, who has epilepsy, and also as a personal challenge for myself. This is the first major event that I have organised on my own and I’m very excited. I really hope we can raise lots of money to help other people and their families and carers, who are affected by epilepsy.”
Claire hopes to raise £1,000 to help support the 456,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK. The money raised by Claire will help fund the vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action.
Tickets for the event are £13 for the whole day or £6 for the evening. For details or to buy tickets, please contact Claire at dancemad@hotmail.com
