Siobhan O'Kane from Glossop, Derbyshire will be taking part in The Great Manchester Run in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity.
The Great Manchester Run will take place on Sunday May 20 in Manchester and is one of the world's fastest-growing running events and Britain's premier 10 kilometre run.
Siobhan says: “I have epilepsy so taking on this type of challenge is both a personal goal and also a chance to raise money for a charity that I know can offer a lot of help to people with the condition. I have never done anything like this before so I am really excited about the sense of personal achievement at the end and also the atmosphere and experience of the race.”
The money raised by Siobhan will help fund vital advice and information services provided by the charity. Epilepsy Action has a network of branches across the UK and now directly helps more than 550.000 people every year.
