Doncaster Epilepsy Action Branch charity walk

5 May, 2011

The Doncaster Branch of Epilepsy Action is appealing for people to pull on their walking shoes to support people with epilepsy. The branch will host the Doncaster Lakeside Wonga Walk to raise awareness of epilepsy. The walk also raises funds to help support the 456,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.

The walk, on Sunday 15 May, starts at 2.00pm and takes walkers on a 3-mile circular route, starting and finishing at Keepmoat Stadium. The route is suitable for all abilities and has wheelchair access.

The walk has been organised to mark National Epilepsy Week (15-21 May). The week aims to raise awareness of epilepsy and raise funds to help support the 456,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.

Irene Beevers, from the Epilepsy Action Doncaster Branch, said: “We have done the walk every year and usually have fantastic support. It’s a great way to meet other walkers and raise awareness of epilepsy. It’s a very pleasant, safe walk and is suitable for all abilities, making it a lovely afternoon out for the whole family.”
