Epilepsy Action’s Harrogate Branch holds information evening

31 August, 2011

The Harrogate Branch of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting an information evening for women with epilepsy.

The event will take place on Wednesday 14 September 2011 at The Majestic Hotel, Ripon Road, Harrogate, from 7.00pm until 8.45pm. It is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy, but will be of particular interest to women with epilepsy.  There will be an opportunity to take away epilepsy information on a range of subjects.

Guest speaker, Professor Pam Crawford, neurologist at York Hospital, is one of the UK’s foremost authorities on women and epilepsy. She will give a short presentation followed by a question and answer session.

Carl, Epilepsy Action’s Harrogate Branch chair, said: “There are some very specific issues that women with epilepsy need to consider at various stages of their lives. Our event will provide a forum to learn about these issues and ask questions in a friendly and informal environment. We are extremely lucky that Professor Crawford has given her time to talk to us. She is highly respected in her field and I would urge any women with epilepsy to find out what help there is for them. You will get the chance to meet and talk to others with epilepsy, and share your experiences.”

Anyone who would like to attend the meeting, or requires further information, should contact Cliff Challenger, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager for north England, on 01274 640064 (mobile: 07843 359 714), or at cchallenger@epilepsy.org.uk
