Going the distance for charity (North Ferriby, Hull)

9 July, 2007

Phil Blogg from North Ferriby, East Yorkshire is set to take on the challenge of an endurance cycle ride in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member led epilepsy charity.

Phil and three friends will be setting off from London on Thursday July 19 to cycle the 200 mile route to Brighton, onto Dover and then back to London. The team aims to finish the challenge on Sunday July 22.

Phil says: “My daughter Katie has epilepsy. Each year the four of us spend a few days cycling to raise money for a good cause. We have done various routes around the UK and last year we did London to Birmingham then north to Derby. The four of us always have a great time and a good laugh at each other when we fall off our bikes! This is just our way of raising money for a great cause and having fun at the same time.”

The money raised by Phil and his friends will help fund vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action. The charity has a network of branches across the UK and now directly helps more than 550,000 people every year.
