Join Us For A Cuppa At Wetherby Town Hall

3 October, 2008

Mary-Jane Archer from Wetherby is inviting members of the public to join her for a cuppa as part of Epilepsy Action’s sixth National Tea Break.

Mary-Jane will be putting the kettle on at Wetherby Town Hall on Thursday October 2 from 9.00am. The event was organised as part of Epilepsy Action’s annual Tea Break event to help raise vital funds for the estimated 456,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.

Mary-Jane said: “The Tea Break will be the perfect opportunity for members of the community to get together over a nice cup of tea.”

Mary-Jane continued: “All are welcome, there’ll be bacon sandwiches, homemade cakes and tea and coffee for sale, and why not try your luck in the raffle which will be drawn at 12.00pm. I have lived with epilepsy for over 20 years and want to raise awareness of the condition in the local community whilst also enjoying fundraising!”

Nationwide, hundreds of people will be organising Tea Breaks. The event has been supported by TV stars and personalities, who have provided a variety of delicious recipe cards for the Tea Break packs being sent to the many people taking part. Celebrities include comedians Victoria Wood and Jo Brand; fitness expert Rosemary Conley; celebrity chef Alan Coxon; and many more.

In the last five years the event has raised over £76,000 and Epilepsy Action is hoping to break the £100,000 barrier this year. For more information about Tea Break, please visit www.epilepsy.org.uk/teabreak
