Mountain Bike Challenge for Hutton (Sheffield)

17 May, 2007

Jennifer Hutton from Meersbrook, Sheffield will be taking part in the Andalucía Mountain Bike Marathon Championship in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity.

Jennifer will be starting her challenge on Saturday May 26 at the Sierra Nevada Ski Resort in Southern Spain.

Jennifer says: “I would love to put my sporting talents to good use and help raise money and awareness for a deserving cause. I have epilepsy so I understand what a difference it can make having advice and support available.”

She continues: "I think this is going to be my toughest challenge yet as the event covers 107km, starting with a 3000m technical descent followed by a 3000m gruelling ascent, so its going to be demanding! I am looking forward to the atmosphere on the trip and some of the sights i will get to see, including the Spanish locals. But most of all seeing the finish line!"

The money raised by Jennifer will help fund vital advice and information services provided by the charity. Epilepsy Action has a network of branches across the UK and now directly helps more than 550,000 people every year.
