The Labour MP for Sheffield is to attend an Epilepsy Action branch meeting on Thursday August 14 at Sheffield Guide and Scout HQ, 60-68 Trippett Lane, Sheffield, S1 4EL.
Meg Munn MP will attend the meeting to discuss issues concerning people living with epilepsy in the region. The meeting will give people living with the condition, their friends, family and carers the opportunity to raise concerns and ask questions relating to epilepsy and health services.
Morina Clarke, Epilepsy Action’s regional services manager for Northern Ireland, North West England and Yorkshire said: "Meg's visit will provide the opportunity to discuss the Wasted Money, Wasted Lives report, published by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Epilepsy last year, and how its call for improved epilepsy services throughout the UK is being addressed within the Sheffield area.”
Morina added: "We are hoping this will be a very useful exchange of information, which will help participants understand how parliament works and Meg to learn more about the issues affecting people with epilepsy in the region."
The Epilepsy Action Sheffield branch meets on the second Thursday of each month (except August) in The Quaker Meeting House, 10 St James’ Street Sheffield S1 2EW at 7.30pm.
Anyone who is interested in attending the meeting or who would like further information about the Sheffield branch should call Duncan, chair of Epilepsy Action's Sheffield and District branch, on 0114 235 2197.
Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. The branches hold regular meetings and offer a variety of social events and informative talks and discussions relating to epilepsy. The meetings also offer the opportunity for people to share their experiences of living with the condition and raise awareness of epilepsy in the local community.
