Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading epilepsy organisation, is launching a coffee and chat group to support young people and families affected by epilepsy in Harrogate.
The first drop-in event will be held on Saturday 19 January from 10.30am to 12.00pm at St Peter’s Church, Cambridge Road, Harrogate. It is hoped that the drop-in will help young people and families affected by epilepsy come together in an informal setting to support each other and share experiences.
Cliff Challenger, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager for northern England, said: “Meeting together over a coffee to share experiences is something that is a great support to many people living with epilepsy. It can make a big difference to meet others who understand epilepsy and the effect it can have on people’s lives. Everyone is welcome, whether you have epilepsy or know someone who does.”
Carl Donnelly, chair of the Harrogate Branch of Epilepsy Action, said: “We hope this new initiative will further strengthen the support for people with epilepsy and those close to them in Harrogate."
After the launch event, the new coffee and chat group will meet on the third Saturday of each month from 10.30am until 12.00pm at St Peter’s Church. For more information, please contact Cliff Challenger on 01274 640 064 or at cchallenger@epilepsy.org.uk
