Ready, Set, Run for Epilepsy Action (Ripon)

27 September, 2007

John Brady from Grewelthorpe, Ripon is taking part in this year’s BUPA Great North Run in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation.

The race, which is the world’s biggest half marathon, will take place on Sunday 30 September starting in Newcastle and finishing 13.1 miles later in South Shields.

John says: “This is going to be my first half marathon for 15 years so it’s definitely going to be a challenge! I have raised money for Epilepsy Action before through their cycle challenge which I will be taking part in again this year.”

He continues: “I think it’s going to be a great day but the best thing about the day is going to be seeing the finish line!”

So far John has managed to raise over £1,200 for Epilepsy Action by taking part in various cycle challenges around the country. You can help John reach his fundraising target of £2,000 for the Alpe D’Huez cycle challenge by visiting http://www.justgiving.com/pinkandbluecyclecrew2007.

The money raised by John will help fund vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action, which directly helps more than 660,000 people every year. The charity has a network of branches across the UK and an award-winning website, www.epilepsy.org.uk.
