Sheffield and Doncaster epilepsy professionals speak at conference

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting a conference in Doncaster focussing on epilepsy lifestyle issues, and to provide support to people with an interest in the condition. 

The event will take place on Saturday 13 November at Doncaster Trades Conference Centre, Frenchgate Centre, Doncaster, from 9.30am to 4.00pm.

Speakers include Alistair Perry, epilepsy specialist nurse at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, and Dr Henry Smithson, general practitioner with a specialist in epilepsy and senior clinical lecturer at Hull York Medical School. Simon Lees, trustee of Epilepsy Bereaved, and Rita Howson, Director of Operations at Sheffield’s Support Dogs, will also speaking.

Cliff Challenger, regional services manager for north England, said: “This event will be a great opportunity for people living with epilepsy to find out more about treatment and lifestyle options. Dr Smithson will be talking about epilepsy diagnosis and treatment. Alastair Perry will be talking about local services in Doncaster and there will be information on epilepsy support dogs and bereavement.”
