Walk for epilepsy in Harrogate

5 May, 2011

Epilepsy Action’s Harrogate Branch are organising a sponsored walk to celebrate National Epilepsy Week, and to raise funds for an epilepsy specialist nurse in Harrogate.

The walk will take place at 11am on Sunday 15 May from Valley Gardens in Harrogate. Walkers will meet at the Magnesia Well.

Carl, Chair of the Harrogate Branch, said: “Epilepsy Action’s Harrogate Branch have been campaigning and raising money for an epilepsy specialist nurse in Harrogate for a while now. The aim of the walk is to raise funds for a new epilepsy specialist nurse post in Harrogate.

“We want to attract people who want to enjoy themselves, as well as support a worthwhile cause. The route itself is easy and is pushchair and wheelchair friendly. You can go either round the park, or to Harlow Carr.”

For further information about the walk, please contact Cliff Challenger, Epilepsy Action's local services manager for north England, on 01274 640 064 (mobile: 07843 359714) or email cchallenger@epilepsy.org.uk
