Dear DebbieWhy do I have to be over 16 to meet other people like me and I now I live in Skegness BUT is there a club near by me please just HELP me thank you x x x x Amethyst, Skegness Hi Amethyst You have to be over the age of 16 to join our online community forum4e, but if you are under this age, a parent or carer can register for you. This is to make sure that forum4e is a safe environment for children. We don’t know of any clubs that are specifically for teenagers with epilepsy in Skegness. You might find it helpful to contact Connexions Lincolnshire. They can tell you about services for young people in your area. They may not have information about clubs for teenagers with epilepsy, but they may be able to suggest other clubs that you might find helpful. I hope that helps. Debbie |

Hi Amethyst Having fits can be scary. If you have been given anti-epileptic drugs, they are designed to stop fits once you are on the right dose. We can talk to you about this if you’d like to call the Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050. The lines are open Monday – Thursday 9 am to 4.30 pm and Friday 9 am to 4 pm. You can also send questions to the email helpline at helpline@epilepsy.org.uk. It can be really helpful to share experiences of epilepsy with other young people. If you are 16 or over, you can join our forum4e and talk to other people there. If you are under 16, you could ask your mum to join forum4e and help you to make contact with other young people to share experiences with them. Hope this helps Debbie |

They will send you a reply ASAP if you type ‘Debbie Urgent’ in the subject box of the email. Debbie |
Dear DebbieCan epilepsy cause Eczema? Or Stress?
That’s an interesting question! I think I could only answer it by saying that sometimes people get stressed because they have been diagnosed with epilepsy, or because they are struggling to get on with their lives. If they also have a tendency to eczema than you could say the stress of having epilepsy could cause eczema. But lots of people have epilepsy and don’t have eczema, so there might not be any links at all. Hope this helps. Debbie |
