Council of Management meeting - December 2007

11 December 2007

The Council of Management met on 11 December. Members received and discussed update reports from each of Council’s committees – Corporate Governance, Education, Finance & Strategic Policy, Standing Committee and Research. The Education Committee presented a new Education Strategy setting out the Association’s priorities and objectives in this area of work for the period 2008–2010. This was approved and adopted by the Council.

Council approved the operational business plan for 2008, setting out the aims and objectives for the whole Association during the next 12 months. Council also approved the revenue budget for 2008. Of special note is the inclusion of a special investment during the year of £500,000 to develop the Association’s future fundraising capacity.

Being conscious of its wider responsibilities, the Council also approved the following new policy: “that the Association will seek to minimise the negative impact of the charity’s activities on the environment”.

Finally, Council continues to look at how it monitors and evaluates its performance through its annual appraisal process
