Hours: 34.5hrs a week
Based: New Anstey House, Gateway Drive, Yeadon, Leeds, LS19 7XY – (During current lockdown conditions the post holder will be expected to work mostly from home)
We are looking for a passionate digital content creator to help us to achieve our goal of becoming a user first digital charity.
What is Epilepsy Action?
Epilepsy Action exists to improve the lives of everyone affected by epilepsy. The scope of our activity is wide ranging and unique. It extends from helpline services and online/physical groups for people who need our help urgently through to eLearning courses that empower people with epilepsy and their wider support networks. We also do a lot to raise awareness and organise complex fundraising events such as Bradford 10K which attracts over 3,000 runners every year. No two days are ever the same.
The Content Lead will help us to think about content in a digital context. You will work with internal and external subject matter experts to relay important messages to our audiences in an interesting and clear way. With a constant stream of content at various stages of production passing over your desk an ability to spin multiple plates in this job is a must. The quality of our epilepsy information is renowned. You’ll create well researched and evidenced content for many different audiences.
You will work within the Digital Services department. This is a department of 7 people (plus two vacant posts) which is less than 12 months old. We have already established effective collaborations with other departmental teams and have several interesting projects planned for 2021 including a substantial overhaul of our main website.
You will report into the eLearning Manager and with our colleagues in External Affairs to ensure consistency with our Tone of Voice guidelines. You will also work with our internal design team to bring content to life by not being constrained to thinking about content as flat images and written words. You will be encouraged to think about different forms of digital content such as infographics, videos and podcasts to create rich user experiences.
What else can we offer you?
If you are new to the charity sector, we can’t overstate the warm fuzzy feelings you’ll get when a good plan comes together. Some of the work we do is genuinely inspirational and life changing. Working in a charity gives you the opportunity to see that impact almost in real time. The regular testimonials we get are really rewarding.
We will offer you great flexible working conditions, a range of employee benefits including a contributory pension plan and a commitment to develop your skills and provide necessary training.
CVs will not be accepted. Please use the application form on this page.
